Job description
The Buyer will research and purchase supplies, equipment, and services required to support the delivery of healthcare services to patients.
Responsibilities and Duties of Buyer
· Oversees, monitors and maintains current inventory and stock levels across locations to help prevent shortages or excess inventory.
· Researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future demand and buying trends to avoid stock outs while minimizing excess inventory to control costs.
· Collaborates with colleagues across different departments to meet the needs of internal end-users, patients, and caregivers
· Develops and maintains relationships with wholesalers and suppliers.
· Supports contract negotiation with wholesalers and suppliers.
· Facilitates the purchase of equipment and supplies.
· Assesses financial risks of purchases and proactively engages with management and/or third-party vendors to identify potential alternatives that help manage costs.
· Maintains accurate records and documentation to maintain transparency and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
· Supports data and analytics needs associated with identifying trends, maintaining KPIs, and strengthening individual, department, and organizational performance.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· Efficient typing skills, with an emphasis on accuracy and legal aspects of purchasing.
· Proficiency working with procurement and/or enterprise resource planning applications,
· specifically modules that support supply chain management.
· Ability to compile information and make decisions.
· Ability to work under pressure.
· Ability to multitask and shift priorities as needed.
· Comfort/willingness to continuously learn and expand skill sets.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to collaborate effectively, build consensus, and work with cross-functional teams.
· At least two years of supply chain or experience in a related field required; purchasing, procurement, and/or inventory management experience within healthcare preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, or related field preferred.
· Prior HME/DME experience is preferred.
· Brightree experience is a major plus.
· Proficiency in MS Office Tools including Microsoft Excel is preferred.
· Background check and drug screen is performed on all employees
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
